Agnes Schroeder

SCHROEDER, AGNES C. MARSHALL Our Mother, Agnes C. Schroeder (Balzer), at the age of 89, passed away on December 4, 2010 at St. Marys Care Center surrounded by family. She was born on July 3, 1921 in Waunakee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Balzer. In 1939 she married her late husband Delbert Schroeder and they remained married for 65 years. Together they had 10 children. She drove school bus for two generations of children at the Marshall School District and later enjoyed her time bartending and visiting with friends at York Center Tap. For the last several years her life was fulfilled as a member of the family at St. Marys Care Center where she enjoyed sewing, playing cards and engaged life with the many friends there. The Family thanks the Staff at St. Marys Care Center for the love and care extended to our Mother. Agnes leaves behind her sons Virgil (Joan) of Cottage Grove, Gary of Moscow, Idaho, Jeff (Deanne) of Idaho, Greg (Brenda) Schroeder of Cambridge, Dennis of Milwaukee; Daughters Linda (Jerry) Scalissi of Marshall, Marie (Gary) Weiner of Florida, Nancee Gulesserian of Cottage Grove. Many grandchildren and great-granchildren, her card playing partners, as well as her dear friends at St. Marys. Her sons James and Duane preceded her in death. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 14 from 4-7pm at the Hart-Vick Funeral Home in Marshall. Family member Pastor Dean Howell will conduct services on Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 11am, at the funeral home, with a visitation prior to service from 10-11am. Final resting place will be Kroghville Cemetary. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to St. Marys Care Center, Activities Department, 3401 Maple Grove Drive, Madison WI 53719.
