Alan P. Tolstyga, 42 of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at his home.
Alan was born on November 23, 1982, the son of Daniel Tolstyga and Debra (Cornelius-Tolstyga) Odekirk. He worked for many years as an electrician and most recently worked at the data center in Mount Pleasant. During his personal time Alan enjoyed woodworking with epoxy inlay and had many future projects planned. He also had many hobbies and loves including the ocean and saltwater aquariums, outdoor activities including camping and hiking with his niece, fine cigars, motorcycles, and road trips with his friends. Alan was also a wet shaving enthusiast with a large collection of brushes and shaving soaps, even sharpening his own blades. One of his prized possessions was a Japanese sharpening stone.
Alan was extremely kind hearted and cared deeply for family and friends. If they needed help, he would be there to help. Alan was a unique soul and had so much to give the world and he will be greatly missed.
Alan is survived by: his mother Debra and step-father David Odekirk; his father Daniel Tolstyga; sisters Leigh (Joel) Stuemke and their daughter Cordelia; and Kelly Axtman; and uncle Randy (Mary) Cornelius. Alan is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Alan is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his beloved pets.
A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home of Watertown with Rev. Ray Bezanson presiding. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Alan will be laid to rest at the Village of Summit Cemetery next to his grandmother at a later date.
