Allan Marvin Horton

Allan Marvin Horton, 78, of Watertown, Wl, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and was born to eternal life on August 22, 2026. Allan was born on November 16, 1947, in Milwaukee, WI, to Charles Horton and Mary Horton Rhadans. On July 11, 2009, Allan was united in marriage with Margaret “Peggy” Gundrum and the couple shared many happy years together until her passing in 2020.

Allan had many interests including fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, and softball. He was a volunteer Ixonia Fireman and EMT. He was a member of the Ixonia Lions Club for many years and held various leadership and volunteer positions during that time. He was also an Ixonia police officer.

Allan was a heavy equipment operator from 1978 until he retired in 2007 and proud member of Operating Engineers Local 139 for 48 years.

He is survived by his three daughters: April (Jeff Halama) Kurtz; Amber (Jason) Steindorf and Allana (Kevin) Brunk; along with his former wife and mother of his children, Rose Zastrow. He has one granddaughter, Brianna Steindorf; 3 grandsons, Brady, Charles and Milo Brunk. He has 3 step-great grandchildren, Malachi, Arleyah and Brycin Kurtz. He is also survived by his brother Larry (Lori) Horton and step-brothers Glenn (Pat) Rhadans and Dean Rhadans.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Charles, William and Robert Horton; his wife Margaret (Gundrum) Horton; and step-brother, Dwayne Rhadans.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home of Watertown with Pastor Caleb Atkins presiding. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until the time service at the funeral home.
