Arlene Mabel Schuett

March 28, 1939 — June 2, 2024

Brandon

Arlene M. (Ninmann) Schuett passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Anchor Communities Assisted Living Facility in Brandon, Wisconsin.  Arlene was born in Hustisford on March 28, 1939, the daughter of Paul and Mabel (Kaul) Ninmann.  Arlene was formerly a resident of Clyman, Watertown, and Waupun.

Arlene was united in marriage to Merlin J. Schuett on April 22, 1957.   They were blessed with 7 children, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way, and one great-great grandson.  She was the last remaining sibling of her large family of 16 children.  She is survived by her children, Robert (Jennifer) of Waupun, Benjamin (Veronica) of Horicon, Kathleen Hansen of New Berlin, Mary (Nelson) Firth of Poquoson, Virginia, Rose (Paul) Brice of Madison, Leander (Teresa) of Horicon, and Timothy of Beaver Dam.  Sixteen grandchildren include Jamie Malkow, Michael, Charles and Joshua Schuett; Justin Schuett, Jill Schuett, Allison Frank and Carolyn Stevinson; Michelle Hansen and Heather Boden; Elizabeth and Sydney Firth; Anthony and Johnathon Schuett; and Alanna and Reese Schuett.

Arlene is further survived by sisters-in-law Katherine Ninmann, Mary Jane Ninmann and Eleanor Schuett, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Merlin, on July 13, 2008, and her siblings, Myrtle Jaekel, Lucille Moke, Betty Wolf, Jeanette Kubly, Ethel Leitzke, Evelyn Nehls, Hazel Kuepfer, Richard, Paul, Ted, Hilbert, Arthur, Willard, Larry and Ronald Ninmann.

Arlene and Merlin (Butch) were dairy farmers for many years.  She was also a long-time seasonal employee of Aunt Nellies/Seneca Foods in Clyman.  At home she enjoyed reading and hiding in the bathtub from the constant demands of her 7 children.  She was a wonderful mother who always put our needs before her own and for that we will be forever grateful.  Many foods will never taste as good as what mom/grandma made!  In her younger years she enjoyed going on carnival rides and it wasn’t fun if you didn’t scream your head off!  She also loved going to polka dances and enjoyed family weddings and gatherings.

Family and friends may call on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyman.  Mass will be at 12:00 p.m.  Private burial will be at St. Isadore Cemetery in Clyman at a later date.
