Blanche Pooch

Deerfield - On June 18, 2015, Blanche Pooch passed away at the age of 100 at the Nazareth House in Stoughton. Blanche was born on Mary 26, 1915, the eldest child of six to Frank and Catherine (Brigowatz) Semon of Milton Junction, WI. The family moved to Watertown when Blanche was four years old. She attended St. Bernard's Parochial Elementary School and Watertown High School. Blanche and Elmer Pooch of Deerfield were united in Holy Matrimony on May 29, 1937 at St. Mary's of the Nativity Catholic Church in Marshall. Elmer and Blanche were a life-long farming couple in the Deerfield and Medina Townships. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage and four children. Blanche was a loyal, conscientious and loving farm wife and mother with great faith in our Lord. She was an excellent cook and was noted for her thoughtfulness in remembering friends and family members on special occasions with greeting cards. Blanche was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Braves, now the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. She loved music and read two daily and two weekly newspapers until recently. She loved playing Keno and Bingo at the Home, doing crossword puzzles and was a caring and loved-conversationalist with her caretakers and residents who became part of her family. Blanche is survived by her four children, Dolores "Dolly" (Vernon) Mandt, Karen Harbort both of Deerfield, Edward (Judy) Pooch of Cottage Grove and Gerald (Tamara) Pooch of Cambridge; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey Albrecht, Timothy and Michael Harbort both of Deerfield, Gregory (Jean) Harbort of Cambridge, Mark (Sue) Albrecht of Marshall, Heather (Brian) Campeau of New Berlin, Crista Pooch of Madison, Tyson Pooch of Stoughton, Scott (Megan) Pooch of Sun Prairie and Karl (Erica) Pooch of Oregon; seven great-grandchildren; Deidre Albrecht, Oliver Pooch, Evan and Aletta Harbort, Gavin and Emma Campeau and Neal Pooch, many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; three sisters, Rosella (Sally) Marhofke, Kathryn Schroeder and Lorraine Wohlfeil; two brothers, Willard Semon and Francis "Frank" Semon; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Semon, Joyce Semon and Agnes Pooch; three brothers-in-law, Edwin Marhofke, Edward Schroeder and Marvin Pooch and son-in-law, Earl Harbort. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY FAMILY PARISH/ST. MARY OF THE NATIVITY, 120 SOUTH BEEBE, MARSHALL on Tuesday, June 23 at 11:00 am with Father Jorge Miramontes presiding with a visitation beginning at 9:30 am. Burial will be held at Kroghville Cemetery in the Town of Lake Mills after a lunch at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Parish, Marshall.A special thanks to the Nazareth House staff and Monsignor Healy for their diligent and compassionate care of our mother, Blanche. Mother: You are close in our hearts today and every day. We cherish and love you always. Thoughts of you refresh our souls and bring comfort to our hearts. We will never be able to express how blessed we have been to have you as out Mother and Friend.
