GROSSMAN, CAROLYN L MARSHALL Carolyn L. Grossman, age 70, passed away on Saturday May 22, 2010 at her home after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born on December 31, 1939 in the Township of Cottage Grove, the daughter of Clarence and Evelyn (Schlueter) Grossman. She graduated from Marshall High School and was employed for many years by the Porcelain Company of Sun Prairie and more recently by Homestead Cheese in Sun Prairie. Carolyn especially enjoyed bowling, card games and family gatherings. She is survived by her brothers Charles (Leone) Grossman of Sun Prairie, Loren (Mary) Grossman of Marshall and Roger Grossman of Waterloo; her sisters Donna (Harvey) Heiman, Karen (Layne) Herried and Bonnie (Tom) Murpy, all of Marshall; her brothers in law Melvin Heiman of Jacksonville Beach, FL and Jerry Weickert of Marshall; her aunt Jeanette (Grossman) Schroeder and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Marlene Weikert and Sharon Heiman, a brother Dale Grossman and other relatives. The family would like to express their thanks to Pastor Schoeneck, her doctors, her nurses and HospiceCare for their support and prayers. Carolyn appreciated all the recent visits from family and friends as well. Her final wish, before going home to her Savior, was to be able to remain in her home. Through the support of her sisters around the clock care, which the entire family is grateful for, Carolyns wish came true. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Pauls Ev. Lutheran Church, 204 Deerfield Road, Marshall, with Pastor Mark Schoeneck officiating. Burial will be in Medina Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Tuesday May 25, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the church and on Wednesday after 10:00 AM, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated.
