David R. Breunig, 81, of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
David was born on March 25, 1944, in Roxbury, Wisconsin, the son of Germain and Gertrude Breunig. He attended school in Roxbury and was a graduate of Sauk High School and MATC Madison. He served in the National Guard for 2 years. He was a supervisor for WE Energies for over 52 years. David Married Lalonnie Kaap on October 4, 1975, and shared 50 years together raising 4 children. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing Euchre, and his beloved dogs. Above all, he found joy spending time with his grandchildren, family, and many friends.
David is survived by: his wife Lalonnie; children Lonny (Theresa), Michele (Andrew), Tiffany (Jason), and David (Kristen); grandchildren Miella (Zach), Janelle, Skylar (Tyler), Lila, Carina, Zackary, Ella (Jared), Zoe (Mason), Mitchell, Rowyn, Germain, Dylan, Nathan, Michael, Nevaeh, Bella, Jae; great-grandchildren Azriel and another on the way; brother Dennis (Jean); sister Donna; and sisters-in-law Jeanette and Linda. David is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Ethel Kippley, Bernard Breunig, Louis Breunig, Ted Breunig, George Breunig, sisters-in-law Mary Breunig and Pat Breunig, and brother-in-law Ralph Kippley.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home in Watertown, with Fr. David Drefcinski presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow the funeral at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.
