Dianne Rumler

Dianne Kay Rumler of rural Watertown, passed away at home surrounded by her family on October 1, 2017. Dianne was born on May 14, 1941 in Columbus, WI, the daughter of Victor and Olive (Schultz) Heller. She graduated from Marshall High School, business school, and then worked at American Family Insurance in Madison into the early years of her marriage. She married Raymond (Ray) Rumler on August 24, 1963 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marshall, WI. They then moved to Ray's family's dairy farm where she raised a family, and lived until her death. Dianne worked part-time at various jobs through the years of raising her family. She retired a few years back from the Watertown School Disctrict, most recently, as a Special Education Paraprofessional. She also worked for the Town of Emmet as a Pollworker. She also worked on Saturday mornings at the recycling center. She made new residents to the township feel welcome, and always had animal crackers for the kids. Dianne enjoyed Badger and Packer football, gardening, baking,and horses. She instilled the love of reading to her girls. She was also musically talented; many years she played trumpet with the Watertown Municipal Band. She especially enjoyed spending time with her daughters and granddaughter. Dianne is survived by her husband Ray of 54 years, daughters Brenda (Randy) Wenzel of Mayville, Debra (Dan) Randall of Watertown, Linda Rumler of Nashville, TN and grandaughter, Nicole Wenzel. She is further survived by other family and friends and her special life-long friend, Marilyn Bremer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband's parents, a son, Bryan Rumler, and granddaughter Rebecca Wenzel. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 9-11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown with Services to follow. A private burial service will be held at the Medina Cemetery in Marshall at a laater date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown. The Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at Aurora St. Lukes's Hospital, Milwaukee. Also thank you to Dr. Siegel, Dr. Liu, and their caring staff at the Auroa Medical Center in Oconomowoc. An extra special thank you to all the amazing staff from Rainbow Hospice who assisted Dianne's family with her care over the past two weeks. And a special thank you to Pastor Rodney Warnecke and Pastor Doug Carter from St. John's Lutheran Church.
