Dorothy Beyer

Dorothy M. Beyer, a lifelong resident of Watertown, passed away Friday, March 23 2018 at Marquardt Health Center at the age of 80 years old. Dorothy was born on August 25, 1937 to Roy and Viola (nee Schmidt) Crass. After graduation from Watertown High School, she married her polka partner, Richard (Butch) J. Beyer at St. John's Lutheran Church in Watertown, on May 19, 1956. Together they enjoyed dancing and raising their four children. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, sewing doll clothes for Barbie, researching family genealogy and collecting hand bells. Dorothy was an excellent cook, making a beef pot roast of supper every Sunday. She will be missed by her loving family, children; Lori (Michael) Justman, Larry (Kathy) Beyer, Lee (Laura) Beyer and Lisa (Tim) Nelson. Dorothy was blessed with eight grandchildren; Scott, Eric, and April Weber, Lindsey (fiancee Alex) Beyer, Robert (Veronica) Beyer, Amelia Beyer , Kyle Nelson and Bradley (Ashley) Nelson and five great-grandchildren; Logan, Izabelle, Meadow, James and Kinsley. She is also survived by her brother Allen (Lenore) Crass and many other relative and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, parents and her brother, Wayne Crass. A memorial service will be held at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. with The Reverend Rodney Warnecke officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service. On-line condolences may be sent on www.watertownwifuneral.com. Burial at Lutheran Cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorials would be appreciated to St. John's Lutheran Church.
