COTTAGE GROVE/MARSHALL Edward I. Anderson, age 92, passed away on Saturday October 5, 2013 at Kindred Hearts Memory Care in Cottage Grove. Edward was born on April 27, 1921 on Washington Island, Door County, WI, the oldest son of Carl and Ethel (Cornell) Anderson. On May 27, 1942 he married the former Elvira Reinhard in Sturgeon Bay, WI. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2008. Ed was a country school teacher in Door County for several years. He and Elvira had farmed in the Marshall area and Ed worked as a machinist at Sussek Machine Shop in Waterloo. He was a member of Marshall United Methodist Church. Ed is survived by his children Diane (Richard) and Ron (Bev), grandchildren Kari (Antwon) and Scott (Marissa), great grandchildren Braylon, Macie and Lailey, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ed is further preceded in death by a grandson Joe Anderson, his parents, and his four brothers Claire, John, Merton and Charles. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 2 PM at the Marshall United Methodist Church with Pastor Afi Dobbins officiating. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 1 PM to 2 PM at the church. Memorials may be made to a health related charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend a warm thank-you to the Kindred Hearts staff at Cottage Grove and Sun Prairie, for the six years of loving care they provided for Edward.
