Elaine A. Frommgen, 91 of Concord, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Three Pillars in Dousman.
Elaine Fix was born on September 11, 1934, in Fort Yates, North Dakota, the daughter of Steven and Philomena (Glas) Fix. In 1937 her family moved to Milwaukee where she grew up. Shortly after high school, she married Fred Frommgen in Milwaukee. In 1957 they moved their growing family to a small farm in Concord. The two then spent 62 joyful years together until his passing in 2016.
In addition to raising her family and caring for extended family members, Elaine worked several different jobs. She enjoyed her job as a school bus driver for the Watertown School District the most.
Family meant everything to Elaine and she treasured the time that she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, spending time with extended family and friends, but especially - going out to eat.
Elaine is survived by: her children Christine (Al) Frommgen-Buck, Fritz (Deborah) Frommgen, Erick (Lori) Frommgen, and William Frommgen; grandchildren Abby, Jessica, Rick, Aaron, Shadd, Brad, Josh, Rebecca, Austin, Kiara, Alex, Alli, and Easton; 15 great-grandchildren - with one more on the way. Elaine is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, son Michael, daughter Catherine Zastrow (Paul), and brother Harold.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 3rd 2025, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church of Watertown with Fr. Tim Renz presiding. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of mass at the church. Following the mass, Elaine will be laid to rest at St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the outstanding staff at Three Pillars of Dousman and Allay Hospice of Brookfield for their passion, care, and dedication in caring for the elderly.
