Eugene Richard Weidensee, of Watertown, age 84, passed away April 17, 2019. Eugene was born August 5, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He joined the United States Army during the Korean War being Honorably discharged in November, 1955. On September 10, 1955, Eugene married the love of his life, Joan Moran. Together they owned a farm in Granton, WI, before moving their family to Watertown in 1980. The family then joined St. Henry's Parish. Eugene worked for many years at the Watertown Daily Times. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan, his 9 children; Catherine (Michael) Fagan, Christopher Weidensee, Leslie Weidensee (m. Ray Paul Goerig), Richard (Rebecca Schille) Weidensee, Jennifer Weidensee (m. David Focardi), Rochelle Weidensee (m. Patrick Jung), Matthew Weidensee, Martin Weidensee (m. Candice Eckstrom) and Karen Weidensee, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by 4 siblings; Richardine Mishler, Ralph Weidensee, Kenneth Weidensee, and Kathryn Schwohcert, and many other relatives and friends. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Katherine Weidensee, and 3 siblings; Patricia Peachy, Donald Weidensee, and Earl Weidensee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Henry's Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, with Father Patrick Wendler, officiating. Friends may call at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial with Military Honor Guard will follow the service at St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery. Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home & Cremation Service has the honor of serving the family. Memories and condolences may be sent at www.watertownwifuneralhome.com.
