NEIS, EVELYN R. WATERTOWN Evelyn R. Neis, age 87 passed away on Saturday March 26, 2011 at University Hospital in Madison. The former Evelyn R. Kreuziger was born on June 5, 1923 in Clyman, the daughter of William and Rosella (OMara) Kreuziger. She married Linus Weisensel who preceded her in death. She married Joseph Neis on November 26, 1955 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Johnson Creek, he preceded her in death on November 21, 2000. Evelyn had been a teacher in Clyman, had been employed at Aunt Nellies in Clyman and she had worked as a housekeeper in the area for many years. She was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church, the Rosary and Altar Society and she had been a teachers aide at St. Bernards School. Evelyn was also a member of VFW Post #3709 Auxiliary and she had been a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. Evelyn enjoyed attending local high school basketball and football games and was a Packer fan. She loved gardening and farming, and birds and animals of all kinds. Evelyn had a great love of the time she spent with family and friends, which was irreplaceable. Evelyn will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors include her children Helen Weisensel of Jefferson, Richard (Sue) Weisensel of Wautoma, Paul (Pam) Neis of Watertown and Mary (Steve) Koegel of Fort Atkinson, a step daughter Susan A. Neis of Lake Mills, grandchildren Beth (Dan) Tyler, Ethan (Kim) Grimes, Lisa (Nick Chapman) Weisensel, Corey (Megan) Grimes, Ashley Weisensel, a step granddaughter Hannah Neis, great grandchildren Dylan, Branden, Gavin and Hayden, her brothers James (Betty) Kreuziger of Beaver Dam and Donald (Helen) Kreuziger of Horicon, she is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is further preceded in death by a son Robert Weisensel, her parents, a sister Margaret Helms and her K9 companion Robin. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at St. Bernards Catholic Church with Monsignor Daniel Ganshert celebrating. Family burial will be in St. Isadore Cemetery in Clyman. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 PM to 8 PM at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home And Cremation Service and on Saturday after 10 AM at the church.
