Gary Bergman

Gary Neil Bergman, age 77, died peacefully at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown, Wisconsin on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Born August 24, 1940, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Orville Bergman and Doris (Rasmussen) Bergman. Gary grew up in Van Dyne, Wisconsin and graduated from Rosendale High School. After serving in the Air Force Military Police for five (5) years in England, he returned to Wisconsin where he married Flora Ann Schroeder on July 23, 1966. Gary was active in the community serving on the Van Dyne Volunteer Fire Department and was a past president of the Lions Club. Gary worked in the animal feed industry at Ralston Purina as a Plant Manager, and at Real Veal and Adell Whey as Vice President. Gary enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing and spending time at the cabin in the north woods with family and friends. Gary will certainly be missed by those who loved him, including his favorite dachshund, Pudgie. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Flora, his children Calvin (Claire) Bergman of Madison, Daniel (Michelle) Bergman, Lynn Bergman (Steve) of Dundee, Kimberly Henze and Mark Carter of England. Other survivors include his brother Thomas Bergman, grandchildren Caroline, Jordan, Adam, Alexander, Ryan, Auston and Taylor, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Doris, by his brother John Bergman and by his sister Jean Bergman. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am to 11:30 am with a service to follow on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 500 Welsh Road, Watertown, Wisconsin 53098 with the Reverend Ray Ray Bezanson officiating.
