Glenn E. Smith, 95, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at Highland House in Watertown. He was born in Ellsworth, Wisconsin on March 24, 1922 to P. Cecil and Ora Smith. Glenn was a WWII Veteran in the U.S. Army. He was stationed to protect Panama Canal when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Glenn married Dorothy L. Reading on June 13, 1944 at St. Patrick's Church in Racine, WI. Dorothy passed away on June 3, 2017. They would have been married 73 years. Glenn's hobbies included being a ham radio operator and computers. He taught himself how to play the guitar, harmonica and accordion. He loved polka music and made the most delicious cinnamon raisin bread. A visitation will be held at Schmutzler-Vick Home and Cremation Service in Watertown on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 11:00 A.M until 11:30 A.M., with a service to follow and military honor guard. Glenn is survived by 2 two sons, Glenn R. (Marilyn) Smith of Racine and Kenneth R. (Linda) Smith of Watertown, 6 grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Marcie (Justin) O'Brien, Dawn (Matt) Schumitsch, Sammuel Smith, Roberta (David) Farnam, George (Elisabeth) Smith and 10 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his sister Betty Borske of Kenosha, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and 2 brothers, Wayne and Ronald Smith.
