Haaron (Bill) L. Ellis, 81, passed away on Friday November 3, 2023 at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
Bill was born on August 7, 1942 in Bethel Springs, TN, son of Jack and Lizzie Ellis. Bill grew up in Tennessee and at the age of 24 found his way to Watertown, WI. It was in Watertown where Bill met Sharon Kasten. Bill and Sharon were united in marriage on February 24, 1966 and were blessed with three boys, Joe, Ron and Dan.
Bill’s first job in Watertown was at Mid-State Shoe Factory. In 1967, Bill started working at Waukesha Foundry/Metal Tek for 40 years, retiring in 2007.
Bill enjoyed Nascar, football, watching old Westerns, Laurel & Hardy, his garden and rummaging to find a good deal. When the weather was warm, you could always find Bill sitting in his garage. He was always friendly to everyone he met, with a smile or a wave and always willing to offer you a “cold one”. Bill’s favorite pastime was spending time with his family, often instigating shenanigans, only to have many backfire on him.
Bill was a member of Watertown Moravian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon. His three sons Joe (Jaime) Ellis, Ron Ellis and Dan Ellis. Grandchildren, Matt Mercer, April (Rob) Kruziki, Amber (Kris) Bauer, Brenna (Jordan) Smith and Lukas Ellis. He is further survived by his brothers, Jerry Ellis and Bob (Kathy) Ellis and brother-in-law Don (Connie) Kasten, great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lizzie Ellis, sister Connie Henry, daughters-in law, Twana Ellis and Jodie Ellis, and granddaughter Isabella Ellis.
Bill will be dearly missed by his family and friends as well his grand-dog and companion, Lilly.
There will be no service for Bill, the family will have a private event celebrating his life.
