STEFFEN, HENRY R.  TOWN OF LEBANON    Henry R. Steffen, age 98, passed away on Sunday April 10, 2016 at Alden Estates in Jefferson.  Henry Roland Steffen was born on January 16, 1918 in the Town of Clyman, the son of Henry A. and Elizabeth "Liz" (Buss) Steffen. He served in the US Army during WWII from August 29, 1942 to February 12, 1946 on Tinian in the Marianne Islands, in the Pacific Theatre. On June 17, 1949 he married the former Doris Wuestenberg at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman and she preceded him in death on June 23, 1985. On May 6, 1988 he married Iris Stewart at the First Congregational United Church of Christ by Rev. Robert Tully. Hank had farmed in the Town of Clyman for many years. Henry was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Juneau. He was a charter member and past president of the Clyman Lion's Club where he received a Melvin Jones Fellowship and a Knights of Sight Fellowship. Hank had served as a 4-H County Resource Leader for 25 years.   Henry is survived by his wife Iris, his children Linda (Alex) Martinez and Sherry (Stan) Jones, five grandchildren Henry and Kim Martinez, Angela (Jeremy) Martinez, and Heather and Tim Kapelanski, five great grandchildren Silas, Ezra, Deagan, Cali and Luke Martinez, He is also survived by two sisters Mae (Hans) Bleifuss and Florence (Roland) Neumann, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is further preceded in death by an infant son Lyle, his parents, five brothers Wesley, Walter, Robert, Roy "Mike", Earl "Pat", four sisters Ruth Bohn, Gladys Krahn, Elizabeth "Lee" Tietz and a baby sister.  Funeral services will be on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Juneau with Pastor Paul Hirsch officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Clyman. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Watertown and on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
