Herbert H. Harwood

Herbert H. Harwood, 91, of Johnson Creek, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.

Herbert was born on October 26, 1932 in Racine, WI, the son of Marvin and Ivah (Hale) Harwood. He married the love of his life Sharon Draheim on October 11, 1958 in Watertown, and the couple enjoyed 62 years of marriage before her passing in 2021. He was a graduate of Racine Park High School; he then earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in finance from UW Madison. He worked as a banker and an insurance agent in Milwaukee for over 40 years. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Herbert was a school board member in Johnson Creek for many years, and was a member of the Johnson Creek American Legion where he served as treasurer. He also coached the golf team at Johnson Creek High School. In his free time he enjoyed reading, golfing, and doing yard work. Above all Herbert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known him.

Herbert is survived by his, daughter Lael (Larry) Wilson, son Brett (Christina Angelici) Harwood, and grandson Nicholas. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother John Harwood, and sister Helen Griffis.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
