John Luther

March 17, 1943 — December 6, 2014

Watertown - John Patrick Luther, age 71 was called home to the Lord on Saturday, December 6th, 2014 at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital with family by his side. John was born on the Feast of Saint Patrick (March 17th), 1943 in Watertown, the son of Bernard "Stoney" and Victoria (Petroskey) Luther. John continued to reside in Watertown through his young adult life when he enlisted in the US Navy. His Naval career was quite honorable being spent on the USS Kitty Hawk supporting US efforts in the War in Vietnam. Upon his return home John started his career, devoting his life and efforts to Sentry Equipment followed by Johnson Controls. In recent past John refused to slow down and let life pass him by. He took much pleasure in his part-time employment with Trek Bicycle Corporation as it allowed him plenty of time to complete countless home improvement and vehicle restoration projects that would awe any master carpenter or skilled mechanic. John is survived by his brother Peter (MaryAnn) Luther and their children; his God-daughter and niece Victoria Luther and niece Angela Luther. John is also survived by his sister Audrey Starken and her children; his nephew Patrick (Ginny) Starken and nieces Mary (Michael) Kusch, Ann (David) Furru, and Gail Swedish. Visitation will take place on Saturday at 10am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Henry's Catholic Parish; 412 N Fourth St, Watertown, WI 53094, at 11 AM. A luncheon will follow the mass at the Schmutzler Vick Funeral Home; 500 Welsh Road, Watertown, WI, 53098. Those wishing to express sympathy through memorials may direct them to the family.
