Watertown - Jonathon E. Creydt, age 57, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family and dogs after a 35 month battle with ALS. He was born on December 31, 1955 in the Town of Lebanon, the son of Harris and Alice (Nelson) Creydt. He was united in marriage to Cheryl (Pugh) on May 3, 1980 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon. He was a 1974 Graduate of Watertown High School, Watertown WI. Jon formerly worked for Carnation Can/Silgan Containers in Oconomowoc WI for 19 years, then for Ball Corporation in Fort Atkinson, WI after 15 years, retiring in 2012. Jon's first love was music, his wish of seeing Paul McCartney at Miller Park 07/16/2013 almost came true, but that morning pneumonia set in. He was an excellent high school athlete involved in football, cross country, state contender in wrestling, and then later in life he attained his black belt in martial arts. For many years his portrayal of Jesus in a Good Friday Passion play at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon touched many people with the true meaning of Easter. Jon loved spending time with his family, his dogs 'Motley' and 'Gracie', watching and his granddaughter Lila, reading, playing sheepshead, and the Brewer's and the Packers. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his son Jeffrey (Andria) Creydt of London, WI his daughter Hailey (Ryan) Stalker and granddaughter Lila Stalker of Watertown. Parents; Harris and Alice Creydt of Watertown; Brothers; Russ (Dana) of Kansas City, Dan (June), sisters; Julie (Steve) Jones, Lisa (Don) Kuehl all of Watertown and Jenny (Jeff) Pulley of Madison, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. According to Jon's wishes, a private family service will be held. Memorial donations may be made in Jon's honor to the Wisconsin ALS Association, Rainbow Hospice and the Watertown Humane Society.
