Judith Ellen Mommaerts-Barnes, 72 of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Accentcare Hospice of Wauwatosa.
Judy was born on July 18, 1951, in Green Bay, the daughter of Harold and Doris (Lemeron) Mommaerts. She married Michael Barnes in Jefferson on May 19, 2003. Judy worked as an electronic assembler for the Eaton Corporation. She was hard working and dedicated, and took pride in raising her daughters to be strong and independent women. In her free time, Judy enjoyed reading, sewing, baking and doing puzzles. One of her favorite activities was taking things apart and putting them back together again. Judy was a previous member of A.B.A.T.E for over 15 years. She also liked gardening and camping, particularly being in the quiet of the woods. Judy’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she treasured the time she spent with them. Judy’s kind, giving and passionate personality lit up any room, and she will be deeply missed by those that she leaves behind.
Judy is survived by: her children Angela Demetropoulos Robinson (Edward Robinson) and Alyssia Demetropoulos-Byers (Paul); grandchildren Alek Demetropoulos (Morgan), Steffan Demetropoulos (Nicole), Keilan Demetropoulos, William Robinson, Ajia Demetropoulos and Nasya Jackson-McEwen (Jason); great-grandchildren Alexis, Natalie, Sofia, Ari, Silas, Nikolas, Kaelani, Luca, Lukas, and Samira; and greatest protector Monroe. Judy is survived by a number of other relatives and friends.
Judy is preceded in death by: her husband Michael, parents Harold & Doris, brother John, great-grandson Draiden and great-granddaughter Nyla.
