Karen Kemmerling, 74, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at Rainbow Hospice, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on September 15, 1951, Karen worked for many years at Crepaco, where she built lasting friendships and became known for her strong work ethic.
Family was the center of Karen’s world and her greatest joy. She loved deeply. Whether by blood or by choice, Karen had a remarkable way of becoming a mother figure to anyone who needed one. She was fiercely protective of those she loved, quick to speak her mind, and known for a fiery spirit that left little doubt about how she felt. Yet beneath that spirited exterior was a generous heart, and those who knew her could always count on her honesty, strength, and unconditional love.
Karen’s greatest joy was the 44 wonderful years of marriage she shared with her beloved husband, Gordy. Their love, devotion, and partnership were the foundation of her life, and she carried his memory in her heart every day after his passing. She treasured the family they built together and the memories they shared throughout their years together.
In later years, she was grateful for the companionship of Romaine, who brought comfort and many cherished memories. She also held a special place in her heart for his grandchildren.
Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gordon Sr.; her son, Gordon Jr.; her granddaughter, Samantha Lynn; her parents, Vivian and Robert Weber; and her brothers, Glenn, Ross, and Donnie.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Daniel (Vicki); her grandchildren, Alek (Morgan), Gordon III (Bridget), Daniel Jr. (Sabrina), Cassidy (Derek), and Toni; her great-grandchildren, Alexis, Niko, Lukas, Elise, Archie, Elena, Jade, Bradi, Jack, and Nathan; her siblings, Dedra (Gary), Gary (Jane), Kenny (Joanne), and Todd; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
In accordance with Karen’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rainbow Hospice in appreciation of the compassionate care and support provided to Karen and her family.
