Lagreeta Holloway

August 6, 1922 — September 11, 2019

On September 11, 2019, LaGreeta B. Holloway (nee McCauley) was reunited with her husband, Willard LeRoy Holloway. LaGreeta was born August 6, 1922, in Bloom Township, WI to LeRoy & LoVilla (Baxter) McCauley. On March 2, 1940, she married Willard Holloway in Dubuque, Iowa. They were married 64 years, Willard preceded LaGreeta in death on February 13, 2004. Even though LaGreeta's primary duty was homemaker, she found ways to supplement the family income. First as a Stanley Home Products dealer, making and decorating cakes of all kinds (weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays) and reupholstering any piece of furniture. LaGreeta was an expert at sewing, knitting, crocheting, and loved experimenting with new recipes, some that she made up as she went. No matter what she cooked it was delicious. She worked at Generac when it was just starting. After LaGreeta and Willard moved to Watertown in December, 1973, she kept busy working at Skilled Care and teaching ceramics at the Senior Center. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Willard Eugene, daughter Diane LaGreeta, her parents, 4 brothers, and 4 grandsons. She is survived by children, Verlynn Franklin of Alabama, Julianne (Apolonio) Alonso of Waukesha, April (Mike) Glassburn of Reedsburg, Winfred LeRoy (Doris) Holloway, Lennie (Julie) Holloway, both of Reeseville, and Robin (Rick) Draeger of Watertown, 25 grandchildren, 51 Great-grandchildren, 10 Great-great grandchildren and her sister Jelayne (Arlen) Ewers of Huntley, Il, Mom will also be missed by many other relatives and friends. We would like to thank the staff at Rainbow Hospice, Johnson Creek, for the care they provided LaGreeta the last 5 months. We know that she loved their endless bowls of chocolate ice cream and we can never thank them enough for making her last days comfortable. Visitation will be held at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, September 28th, 2019. A celebration of life service will follow with Pastor Ken Casey, First Baptist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family or donations in LaGreeta's name to First Baptist Church or Rainbow Hospice. Memories and Condolences may be sent to www.watertownwifuneralhome.com.
