SCHUMANN, LESLIE M. Leslie M. Schumann, age 91 of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday May 11, 2011 at Marquardt Memorial Manor. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 2:00 PM at St. Lukes Lutheran Church with Pastors Anthony Schultz and Mark Gartner officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Reeseville. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the church. Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home And Cremation Service is serving the family. Leslie was born on November 12, 1919 in Lowell, the son of Otto and Hattie (Neuberger) Schumann. On September 14, 1946 he was married to Helen McCredie at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashau, IA, she preceded him in death on December 17, 2005. He had farmed in the Reeseville and Clyman areas and he had been employed by 7 UP in Watertown. Leslie was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Watertown and a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman where he served as church secretary for many years. He was a member of Wethonkitha Club and AARP #3056. Leslie enjoyed camping in all 50 states, playing cards, feeding the birds and ducks, and being the best grandpa ever. Survivors include his children Lt. Col. Glen (Diane) Schumann of Winona, MN and Barbara (Charles) Weiss of Watertown, grandchildren Angela (Tim) Huse, Nicole (Chris) Gable, Britta (Jeff) Gilbert, Sabrina Schumann, Tresa Schumann, Charla Weiss, Adam (fiance Kristine Lang) Weiss, step grandchildren Darci (Brian) Prodzinski, and Teri Thiele, great-grandchildren Tyler, Austin and Heaven Huse, Avrey and Aven Prodzinski, and Julie Gable. Also Survived by two sisters-in-law Violet Wilson and Lois (Wesley) Skaar, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is further preceded in death by his parents, a brother Donald Schumann and a nephew Dennis Schumann.
