Lois Loveng

October 28, 1931 — May 26, 2015

Lois V. Loveng of Watertown, age 83 passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at UW Hospital, Madison. She was born on October 28, 1931 in La Crosse, the daughter of Fred and Elsie (Selebrede) Yandt. Lois married Wilfred Loveng on November 28, 1951. They were able to share 34 loving years together before his death on October 9, 1986. Lois worked at the former Kusel Hardware store as well as Paul's Dress Shop. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #189 Auxiliary and a former volunteer at Marquardt Health Center.  Additionally, Lois was blessed to see the world and she traveled extensively including a supersonic flight to London on the Concorde jet, and an Atlantic cruise home on the famous QE2.    In the eyes of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Lois was strong, supportive, generous, and kind.  She loved attending and supporting the family sports, academic, and music events.  She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo, and then sharing her winnings with the youngest family members.  These selfless actions are examples of how she made each child feel like her "favorite", and yet only articulate a sliver of the beautiful person Lois was.  She is survived by her children, Pamela (Eugene) Fredriksen of Trinity, FL and Kevin Loveng of Beaver Dam, WI; grandchildren, Heather (Tom) Heskin, Jeffrey (Cassandra) Fredriksen, Holly (Brian) Hinze and Joseph Fredriksen; great-grandchildren, Justen, Mason and Colin Heskin, Jovie and Jeremy Hinze, and Annabelle Fredriksen; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilfred and brothers, Marlin Yandt of Orlando, FL and Artis Yandt of La Crosse. A funeral service will be held at the Marquardt Chapel on Saturday, May 30th at 11AM.  Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at the Marquardt Chapel. Memorial donations would be appreciated to any charity that touches your heart. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marquardt Manor staff and friends for being part of her home in Watertown.
