KWAPIL, MARIE WATERTOWN Marie Kwapil, age 93, passed away on Friday February 1, 2013 at Heritage Homes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father Jorge Miramontes celebrating. A private family burial will be held in St. Bernard's Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Rainbow Hospice or the charity of one's choice, would be appreciated. Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family. Online condolences may be left at watertownwifuneralhome.com. Marie McFarland was born on October 21, 1919 in Watertown, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Roch) McFarland. On January 17, 1942 she married William Kwapil at St. Bernard's Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1998. Marie was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church where she served on many committees and boards, including the annual Winterfest and the Turkey Dinner . She was also a member of Catholic Women's Club, Watertown Hospital Auxiliary, Saturday Club, The Summer Girls and Ladies of Elk's. Marie loved to play cards, entertain and she was active in many community projects and events. Her most special times were spent with her grandchildren on Christmas Eve and summers at the Lake, she loved to attend all their special occasions. Marie is survived by her children William J. (Catherine) Kwapil, Jr., Susan (Michael) Sadowski, Thomas J. (Karen) Kwapil, Donald P. (Jean) Kwapil and Steven J. (Belinda) Kwapil, a sister in law Josephine McFarland, she is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is further preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Veronica Burmaster, James McFarland, John McFarland and Bernadette Klecker. Marie's family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Home and Rainbow Hospice for their care and concern.
