Marion R. Pohl, 90, of Watertown passed away peacefully and joyfully rushed into the arms of her Savior on June 30th, 2024, at Park Terrace in Watertown.
Marion was born on November 23rd, 1933, in Farmington MI the daughter of Edward and Mildred (Brown) Whitney. She attended east Jordan high school in Michigan but graduated from Watertown High School in 1951. Marion was married to Donald Nehs for 13 years and together they had six children. After Marion and Don divorced, Marion was left to raise her six children on her own. Her greatest desire throughout her life was that her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren would grow to know and love Christ and to serve him with all their hearts. She accomplished this by being a wonderful example of who Jesus is, and the support of a loving church community. She married Donald Pohl on November 23, 1985 and they enjoyed 39 years of marriage. Marion made custom draperies from home while her children were young and then worked as an inspector at Husco Corporation until her retirement in 1999 when she and Don moved to Almond, WI, to care for his aging parents. Marion enjoyed reading, gardening, quilting, traveling, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed many friendships.
Marion is survived by: her husband Don; children Phillip (Andrea) Nehs, Esther Pollnow, Rebecca (Greg) Campbell, Timothy (Debbie) Nehs, John (Jenny) Nehs, and Jim (Sherri) Nehs; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and counting; one great-great grandchild; siblings David (Marlene) Whitney, Norman (Jan) Whitney, and Ola (James) Pfaff. Marion is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Edward Whitney, Irv Whitney, Carl Whitney, Harold Whitney, Myrtle Houlihan, and Maynard Whitney.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30PM on July 11, 2024, at Bridge Church in Waukesha, WI, with Rev. John Nehs presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:00PM to 6:30PM.
