Mark Simon

On Thursday, July 8, 2021, Mark Joseph Simon passed away in California at the age of 57.

Mark was born in Watertown, Wisconsin, to John F. and Susan K. Simon. He moved to California after graduating from the University of Wisconsin- Madison with a degree in Civil Engineering. He served the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California as a licensed professional engineer for 30 years and then enjoyed four years of retirement.

Mark was a person you could call if your car wouldn’t start, if you needed someone to play poker with, and especially if you wanted help finding the best bargains. He led a simple life and will be sadly missed by friends and family.

Mark was preceded in death by his parent, John F. and Susan K. Simon. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Dan (Angie) Simon, David (Rochelle) Simon, Jane Simon, Anne (Chris) Gibes, and Paul Simon, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Mass for Mark will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church with Fr. Vincent Brewer presiding. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Henry’s Cemetery.
