Raymond Wells

Waterloo - Raymond J. "Ray" Wells, age 89, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Watertown Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 26, 1925 in Mauston, the son of Harry and Julia (Riley) Wells. Ray married Lucille "Lucy" Meyer on August 28, 1946 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Westport and were able to share 68 years together. They were both lifelong dairy farmers; mainly in the Waterloo area. Ray was a member of Holy Family Parish/St. Joseph. He was a devout follower of Christ and loving family man. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; children, Donna (Myron) Wilcox, John (Shelley), Ralph (Patricia), Ronald (Patricia), Michael (Joyce), Daniel (Donna), Jean and Julie (David) Ellingson; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; siblings, Margaret, Marion, Bernard (Paulette), Dorothy (Jerry) Pryse and John (Cathie); nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Madlyn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at HOLY FAMILY PARISH/ST. JOSEPH, 387 S. MONROE ST., WATERLOO, with Father Jorge Miramontes presiding. Rite of Committal will follow in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the church from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and then again on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Watertown Hospital for the considerate care that was extended to Ray.
