Robert L. Lewis, 88, of Watertown, passed away on January 16, 2026, at the VA Hospital in Madison.

Robert was born on July 11, 1937, in Poynette, the son of Matthew and Valborg (Landsverk) Lewis. He married Donna Johnson on July 4, 1956, in Rio and the couple enjoyed 65 years together before her passing in 2021. Robert proudly served our country in the United States Navy, where he was the Chief, and retired from the military. He was a wonderful caregiver to Donna in her final years. In his free time, he enjoyed working on puzzles, but above all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Robert will be missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

Robert is survived by his children Kim Lewis, Craig (Sandy) Lewis, Turine (Carl) Williams, Kirk Lewis, Jeff Lewis, and Will (Ashly) Lewis; grandchildren Kainen (Jeana), Kristopher, Katianna (Josh), Jenny (Chris), Carl Jr. (Ashley), April, Jordan (Matt), Bill (Miah), Ben (Nicole) and Bobbie (Alex); 19 great-grandchildren; sister Mary (John) Waugh and sister-in-law Charlene Lewis. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna, brother Hal and Jerry, and sister Marcia.

A family celebration of life will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Bezanson presiding.
