Thomas A. Berg

February 6, 1959 — January 9, 2025

Watertown

Thomas A. “Tom” Berg, 65 of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at his home in Watertown.

Tom was born on February 6, 1959, the son of Raymond and Thomasina (Watson) Berg. On June 23, 1979, Tom married the love of his life Lisa Tucker at the Watertown Moravian Church. Tom enjoyed being outside and soaking up the sunshine. Every year, Tom and Lisa rented a cabin in the mountains by the Shenandoah Valley and spent 2 weeks enjoying the scenery and making lasting memories. Although Tom had many friends, his best companion was his dog Leo who was rarely away from his side. For over 30 years, he worked Master Utilities for Cooper Power Systems in Pewaukee. In his free time, Tom could be found cheering on the Green Bay Packers, or listening to music and talk radio. Tom especially enjoyed the topics of history and politics, and frequently called in to various radio programs to share his ideas. His love of music extended across many different genres, but David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen were two of his favorites. He was also known to dance, and make up songs of his own. Tom was a selfless man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was the core of his family and inspired all who knew him with his generosity and fierce love. Tom’s family was the most important thing to him, and he cherished his relationships with them, especially his grandchildren. He would make every effort to maintain connections with them, whether it was sneaking them candy or soda, being the tooth fairy, or teaching them ‘crayfishing’. Tom enjoyed time with his brothers and sister, and made a special effort to connect with them when he could. Tom’s steadfast strength was a source of inspiration to those around him. Despite his cancer diagnosis, he remained positive and dedicated to fighting without giving up and never complained about what he had to go through in the process. Tom was deeply loved by all those who knew him and will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the ProHealth Care Cancer Center of Oconomowoc for the loving care provided to Tom.

Tom is survived by: his wife of 45 years Lisa; children Heather Battist, Aleasha (Ken) Bozych, Tommy (Melissa) Berg, and Stacey (Chris) Berg; grandchildren Kobe, Logan, Kendall, Annabelle, Jack, Weston, Rylan and Lucy; brothers Raymond (Darlene), Dennis (Cheryl), and Ken (Sheri); brother-in-law Gary Schweitzer; and sister-in-law Laurie Zubke and her children Ryan and Kristen. Tom is also survived by a number of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Kathy.
