Verena Pillsbury

PILLSBURY,  VERENA  A. WATERTOWN  Verena A.Pillsbury, a  beautiful person inside and out passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015,  at the age of 91. She was a role model to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She is well loved and will be missed tremendously but we know she is in a better place with her loved ones who have passed before her. The visitation will be at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church. Volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Society for many years and was also a member of the Watertown Senior Center.The former Verena Patsch was born on May 4, 1924, daughter of Philip and Julianna Patsch. On Jan. 16, 1943, she was united in marriage to James Pillsbury. She is survived by her children Vernon (Colleen) of Waukesha, Richard (Debbie) of Watertown, Joe (Darlene) of Hustisford, Sandra (Michael Sr.) Thoma of Juneau, Julie of Watertown, Jerry (Cindy) of Watertown, Eileen (Mark) Ritter of Stacy, Minn., David (Anette) of Felch, Mich. and Timothy (Bonnie) of Iron Ridge. Further survived by 26 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren, many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Verena was preceded in death by her husband James in 1982, a son Phillip, grandsons Matthew Thoma, Phillip Liaromatis and great-grandson Micah Peters. She was also preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters. Her family would like to express their gratitude to Marquardt Memorial Manor for the care she received while in their care.
